Centre for Information Technology (CIT), established in 1999 is one of the major resource centers in the Institute of Engineering, Tribhuwan University that provides Internet facility to the students and faculties of Institute of Engineering as well as to Tribhuwan University. In addition, CIT strives to produce quality software in the country for local and international market and also provides specialized training in any field of IT sector.

One of the major objectives of CIT is to create a well-equipped environment for development activities related with Information Technology. CIT owns a large number of computers and VSAT station to provide Internet facilities to the students and faculties of IOE. With all the facilities, CIT is one of the best research centers for IT sector in the country.Besides these the noteworthy objectives are as follows:
CIT has its own VSAT terminal and equipment for Internet connectivity, optical fiber backbone within Pulchowk Campus premises and large computing facilities. CIT have about 100 computers that are decicated for internet facilities. With all the facilities, CIT is one of the best research centers for IT sector in the country.

The Web, Internet and Networking Group (WING) in Center for Information Technology, Pulchowk Campus at Institute of Engineering, Tribhuvan University is diverseboth in its coverage of areas and in the nature of activities undertaken.
IOE faculties and graduateas well as undergraduate students who are interest in conducting various ICT realted works voluntarily.

Internet and Intranet development, web applications, website designing and development, LAN management, WAN implementation, MIS etc.

Centre for Information Technology (CIT) has total dedicated bandwidth of 20/20Mbps. CIT is providing fully dedicated wired and wireless internet facility to the hostels, all the departments and staff housing of Pulchowk campus.
Students as well as staffs of the pulchowk campus can easily obtain an email id with domain name ioe.edu.np (for example, email@example.com).
CIT is providing all the technical supports to conduct online entrance examination for diploma, BE and M Sc. entrance examinations. CIT, not only helps to conduct entrance examination for engineering level but also supports for medical and nursing entrance examinations.
CIT is also ready to provide consultancy services related to computer network/system to the constituent campuses as well as to the T.U. affiliated engineering colleges.
Lab and Research:
CIT is providing internet facility to the students through its internet labs from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm every days (except saturday and public holidays).It has also plan to conduct innovation and research classes on various emerging technologies.
CIT is providing web hosting services through its own servers.
CIT is providing various basic and advanced training packages of skill development training related to networking, web development, system administration and wireless administration.
