LOGIN IN WINDOW NT (From CIT Lab)
To logon to the system having Window NT Workstation
- Press Control + Alt + Delete to get the logon window
- Use your username and password
LOGIN IN WINDOW 95/98/2000/XP (LAN Users)
SETUP AND LOGIN IN WINDOW (Dial up Users)
- Verify that Dial-up Networking is Installed
Press [Start]; select Settings, then Control Panel. Double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon. Select the Windows Setup tab, then click on the Communications option and press Details.... Make sure that the Dial-up Networking option is checked. If it is, go on to step 2. If it isn't, check it and click [OK]. Windows will attempt to install the needed drivers, so make sure you've got your installation disks or CD handy!

Now that the driver is installed, you need to configure it so it will work with Windows and to connect to CIT. Press [Start] , select Programs, Accessories, then choose Dial-Up Networking. Either "Make New Connection" dialog box should come up or you have to double click Make New Connection. On Make New Connection dialog box type CIT and select your modem as shown at the right.
Click Next and type in the phone number which will dial up to connect to us as shown below
After you have typed in the phone number, click Next, then click Finish. There will now be an icon named CIT in the Dial-Up Networking folder as shown at the right
Now you have created the new connection for the CIT.
On double clicking the CIT you will be connecting to the CIT but before that you have to type your user name and password. if the phone you are dialing is busy then try other phone numbers.
CHANGE PASSWORD
To change password, follow the procedures given below:
- Logon to the system using username and your current password
- Once you logged on to the system, press Control + Alt + Delete, this brings Password changing window. Click change password button.
- Enter your old and new passwords and then press OK.
- Login to the system using new password.
Note:
- This is valid way of changing password only for those computers with NT operating system. For Win 95/98 operating system, take help form system administrator.
- User should change password frequently to protect their account.
